Shree Vishnu Mahaa Puraan

Seema G Saxena

About this book

Shree Vishnu Mahaa Puraan ranks third among eighteen pivotal Puraans and dates back to the seventh manvantar. Vishnu is portrayed as the supreme power who creates, sustains and destroys the universe. The book demystifies spirituality and moaksh. Woven in are anecdotes, phenomena and thoughts ahead of its times - 'The prominence of water will be a means to assess Earth's condition and cost', 'The knowledge that a person possesses is an important god for that person, such knowledge is worship worthy and is a protectress'. This Puraan is not about the 1000 names of Vishnu and is distinct from a televised serial.

Rum

Nizam Haris

About this book

What if the book you are reading screams in pain and throws abuses at the author? What if that friendly chicken in the neighbourhood hangs himself one day? What if the dead fish on your plate talks?
The stories in Rum are meant to riddle your mind seeking for logic and reason. Characters ranging from crazy barber to the butcher who cut in his sleep, the themes here are a mirror on society with a note of mockery. Rooted in absurdism and magical realism, the stories here are ambiguous enough to make many points, leaving the interpretation to the reader.

THe Ripening

Siva Aditya Penumarthi

About this book

"I end my book with my thoughts, my feelings, my experiences, and my regrets--bounded and compact. I feel that is how my life has always been, bounded and compact within the walls of my false impressions." -The Ripening The collection of stories holds within them stories of people, their perceptions, and their persistence to dictate terms to the order of things. Whether it is the octogenarian staring helplessly at his imminent future unfolding, or a novice in trade with a bruised mind and its debris, the gangster who sees the present as a manifestation of his sinful past, or the longing of a tree for a visit from the stranger to the woods, the struggle of a man for an undisturbed afternoon of a lull, and many such other stories, they all form the structure of the stories and showcase the limitations of the protagonists.
